How much does catering cost?
The price of catering varies widely, but is always reasonable.  Catering may be priced by tray, by piece, or by person, depending on the nature of your event, items ordered, current food cost and availability, any special requests, etc.  Please contact beth@chezmoigeneva.com to discuss your event and specific needs in more detail.

How far in advance do I need to place a catering order?
This again depends on your specific needs, but 72 hours (3 days) advance notice is usually sufficient for us to accommodate average catering orders.  At least 7 days advance notice is suggested when booking a private event at the café, to ensure that your desired date/time is available, schedule any necessary support staff, etc.

Is the café available for private events?
Yes, the café is available to host your private parties and events.  Reservation of any particular date is on first- come, first-reserve basis, and must be secured with a check or credit card.

How many people does the café accommodate?
Total approved occupancy of the café, as deemed by the Geneva Fire Department, is 62 people.  However, for sit down, table service, or buffet-type events, the café comfortably seats about 45-50 people.

Do you have a bar?
Yes, a fine selection of wine and beer are available (in addition to any food cost).  Due to city and state license restrictions, hard liquor may not be served at the café.

Can I bring in my own decorations and equipment?
Yes, guests are welcome to bring in their own decorations and/or equipment (within reason).  Our staff may assist when/where possible, but it is guest responsibility to both put up and take down any custom decorations.  The use of paint-friendly tape is required.

Can I bring in my own food/drink?
Local health codes and legal liability prohibit guests from bringing most foreign food/drink into the café, but you may be allowed to bring in pre-approved items for their private event, such as specially-decorated desserts, items to accommodate children or special diets, etc.

Is there any fee to use the café?
Yes, there is a flat $100 fee to rent the café.  This non-refundable fee is typically collected as a deposit in order to reserve the café for your event.
